Routs for Hibs & Rangers, Celtic youngster impresses – Team of the Week

New Hibernian manager Paul Heckingbottom has had the perfect start so far in Leith, with his second win in as many games coming on Friday, with a 4-2 win at Dens Park. Rangers however went a step further on Sunday, hitting Hamilton for five on the road. A first start for Ewan Henderson, younger brother of former player Liam, was the main takeaway from Celtic, who ran out comfortable winners against Motherwell.

McNulty celebrates his second goal on Friday night



Vaclav Hladky – The Czech goalkeeper made several saves to help his side to a 1-1 draw at Tynecastle. The Saints sit four points adrift at the bottom of the table but will be encouraged by back-to-back away draws against Aberdeen and Hearts.


Andy Halliday – The fullback performed well as he and his Rangers teammates kept a clean sheet in a 5-0 win at Hamilton. He made 30th appearance of the season on Sunday after his spell in Azerbaijan last season.

Alan Lithgow – The defender played his part as Livingston got their 12th clean sheet of the league season in a 1-0 win over Kilmarnock.

Dom Ball – The versatile defender played a part in both of his sides’ goals as Aberdeen beat St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park. This was Aberdeen’s seventh away win in a row.


Ewen Henderson – The 18-year-old midfielder put in a performance beyond his years in his first start for Celtic as they beat Motherwell 4-1 at Celtic Park. He assisted Edouard’s first goal and may be in line for more appearances after an injury to Ryan Christie.

Stevie Mallan – The midfielder excelled on the right side of a midfield diamond as Hibs beat Dundee 4-2 on Friday night. His goal, Hibs’ fourth, was yet another long-range effort.

Graeme Shinnie – The Aberdeen captain scored a goal in each half as his side won 2-0 away at St Johnstone. Shinnie doubled his goals tally for the season to four.

Scott Wright – The winger impressed despite his team’s defeat at home to Hibs. He provided assists for both his side’s goal and was a constant threat throughout.


Marc McNulty – The on-loan striker scored twice as Hibs won away at Dens Park. The January signing has been in fine form in recent weeks with 4 goals in his last 3 games.

Chris Erskine – The midfielder’s first Livingston goal was enough to give them victory over Kilmarnock. This was Livi’s first win since mid-December.

Odsonne Edouard – The French striker scored Celtic’s second and fourth goals as they beat Motherwell 4-1 at Celtic Park. His second, a fine free-kick from long range.
